Connections to Language Arts

Remember that the Primary ADST Curriculum does not have any curricular content. It is designed to be integrated with the content of other curricular areas. Pulling from Language Arts is a great way to start.

Picture Books that Connect to ADST

One of the great things about the lack of curricular content in ADST is that as the teacher you can link it to many different subject areas. Making connections to Language Arts couldn’t be easier as there are many books that get students thinking about Design Thinking. Below you will find a selection of our favourite books that get our students thinking using ADST thinking. If you have any books you would like to add please go to our ADST Picture Book Forum Post to contribute. We love hearing about new reads!

When you click on the image of each book below, you will be connected to the GoodReads website to see reviews of the books. As well, please find videos of the books being read aloud in case you don’t have access to the physical book.

** In the future, we would like to create connections to Core Competencies and mini lesson ideas.
